  2. Shock and Awe! Congratulations on your closed form analytical solution! Are there all real IR vibrational modes calculated for human larval lifeforms?

  3. Wow! Congratulations!

I wish you would be able to read the following Chinese greeting. If not, just take it for granted that I am saying something really good :-) :

    新婚快乐,白头偕老,永结同心!

    Best Wishes,
    Yidun

  11. Hi All,

Thanks so much for all the good wishes :-) I feel like nothing can go wrong with all of your kind words.

There probably exist about 1 million photos from the wedding. We have been pushed around the whole day to please stand here, walk there, or sit here, a photo with the best man, the parents, the 12 cousins, the aunt, with the fountain, with the castle in the background, etc.

Since several friends asked us to put these photos online, there will probably be a further post with more details...

    Dear Wolfgang,

Stefan follows me very reliably, and usually much more careful. He takes all the steps that I jump over, but fortunately we (almost) always arrive at the same point.

    Dear Uncle Al,

the short range interaction works pretty well, but as things are the long-distance contribution is non-negligible. I guess, we have a strong UV/IR mixing.

    Dear Yidun,

thanks! I will try to find out what it means...

    Dear Christine,

will try hard. I admit I began reading Peter Woit's book yesterday...

    Dear Who,

I am a kind of paranoiac in reverse. I suspect people of plotting to make me happy. ~J.D.Salinger

    Dear fh,

danke :-) Sogar das Deutsche Wetter hat mitgespielt. Der Fotograf meinte: das hamse aber extra bestellt, oder?

    Dear quasar,

its my mother's dream dress... It is beautiful as long as you don't have to wear it. It was pretty hard to breathe in it.

PS: I am the one pulling the strings ;-)

    Dear JoAnne,

Thanks for the good wishes! My husband is used to that. I assure you it wasn't the first thing I did in the morning ;-)

    Dear nigel,

I am definitely lucky to have so nice readers in my blog.

A wonderful Sunday to all of you,

    B.

  12. "May your travels be prosperous"

I just uploaded a video of your Thu/Alternatives talk "Phenomenological Quantum Gravity" here, also available over "SUSY '06" video-podcast in iTunes Music Store (i.e., you can watch it on your video-iPod). Your talk was only a few which I completely taped, since I had met you previously. I remember seeing you at the Fashion Island Mall on Wed.

It's ironic that I just shot a "wedding-cake" pano @Caltech recently (only 2 blocks from where I live), they host a lot of weddings over there.

  13. Hi byen,

just read your comment on CV, you really get around in the world! Many thanks for the video of the talk.

    Here is the pdf-file

    Will follow your travels online...

    Best,

    B.

PS: Yeah, I bought the dress the previous day at the mall, since I noticed I hadnt packed anything to wear besides running shorts.

  15. Dear all of you,

thank you very much for all your congratulations and best wishes for our future :-)
So much positive feedback is really overwhelming :-)

    Dear Christine,

And remember *not* to post during honey moon! :)

I have a strong gut feeling that not even me could stop her from blogging from time to time ;-) But I can assure you that I have known that before ;-)

    Dear JoAnne,

And to think that just this morning she sent me a copy of her SUSY06 talk...

On Saturday afternoon, while we were reading through our greeting cards, she suddenly remembered that she had promised to send some file to someone, and switched on her notebook for some minutes... I can live with that :-)

    Dear Wolfgang,

The husband tries to catch up it seems

It was not easy at all to walk next to her in this dress - at least until I had figured out how to do that without stepping on the enormous train of the dress. And climbing down the stairs, the dress took even more space ;-)

    Dear Chris,

    the dress IS a dream

Yes, indeed, it is - I was completely stunned when I saw Sabine for the first time in this dress before the wedding ceremony, although I had been told before that it would be a big dress ;-)

But it is also a completely crazy dress ;-)... The I-do-not-know how many sheets of fabric make it extremely heavy - I was really surprised! Sabine could not step backwards in it, and had to figure out first a very elegant way of turning around.

    But it looks really terrific!

There will be more photos for sure, since we were photographed all the time - let us take some breath before posting more :-)...

    Thank all of you again,
    best regards,

    Stefan

  16. It looks like you both saw something very attractive on the floor in front of you... now, for the one behind, that is understandable.

Herzlichen Glückwunsch, and other random collections of letters!

  17. 新婚快乐,白头偕老,永结同心!

    Dear Yidun,

    we got a translation:

'Happy marriage, may you as a couple be together and happy forever.'

Thanks for the nice wishes :-)

Is that about correct? Best regards,

    B.
